Requirements management application
Requirements management (RM) applications can be used to help optimise requirements communication and verification within organisations and through their supply chains.
They can be particularly useful for managing requirements in a single location for collaborative multi-disciplinary teams, helping organise, track, and analyse information and changes to it. This can avoid the need to use multiple spread sheet and other independent and sometimes incompatible applications.
Requirements management applications can help assess complex business needs and develop physical, functional and performance requirements for a solution to that need. They can help:
- Setting up the project.
- Collecting inputs about the business need.
- Establishing the high-level and detailed requirements.
- Organising, managing, checking and reviewing requirements.
- Generating deliverables such as requirements specifications, test reports, contract documents and so on.
Projects that comply with the level 2 building information modelling (BIM) standard can benefit from the use of requirements management applications to determine, describe and track information requirements.
